Training Legs

Ok, as long as I have trained my legs I can never seem to figure out a way to train them hard and walk normal the next day. I over trained them the other day and the repercussions werent pretty. I have to be on my feet all day as I do construction for a living. I was fucking miserable. I could barely walk. Should I switch my workout to training quads one day and hams and calves another. Would that help somewhat?Do to being sick last month I lost 20 lbs. I realized the weight I lost was 90% from my ass and legs. In the past 3 weeks my legs have blown the fuck up and my ass is filling in my jeans again. My boxers were falling off of me 3 weeks ago and now I have to buy a bigger size because they are so tight the hole stays open in them. On a cold day of course my little peter pops out to see the sights LOL.

Last January I made a decision to train legs 1x a month because my legs grow extremely fast. 10x faster then my upper body. Well I stayed proportioned up until the begininning of july when work took off and I stopped training. This go round I have set new goals. Basically I want to look retartedly huge and at 5'7" that shouldnt be all that hard because shorter guys look thicker usually. Anyhow I am training legs everyweek regardless if they surpass my upper body or not. Whatever want to grow can grow. I will train as hard as I can everytime I hit the gym.I just wanted to here what you all think as far as splitting up leg workouts for the benefits of being able to walk the next day.

Good question...After some intense squat days I too would look frickin' disabled the next day...Walking up/down stairs looked ridiculous! One thing that helped, believe it or not, was training legs more than 1x per week...I did 20 rep squats for a while (one set, 20 reps, 10+ second rest in-between repetitions) and they grew--sore the next day, but not goofy looking anymore. I dunno, this was just me...But by doing that 2-3x a week I was able to train legs without destroying them to the point of insane pain the day after...Also, my upper-body grew with this regiment too...It was like squats were amplifying any upper-body work I did...Another counter-intuitive phenomenon, but it seems like that kind of stuff separates the boys from the men--do what works rather than what makes sense.

Im with ya Condor. My legs grow extremely fast but they also shrink very fast too. that is the first thing I lose is my ass and legs when I lost weight from being sick. I lost about 40 lbs. My legs were so skinny I could get my hands around them to touch in just 3 weeks my fingers are about 4 inches away from each other. No bullshit they grow extremely fast. Squats and deads both require your entire body to work so it comes as no surprise that your upper body advanced with doing squats 3x aweek. Not to mention I read that squats also release testosterone also. Not sure if thats a fact or not tho.

i'm not sure what the problem could be. I wish I had the issue of my legs growing like gangbusters ... to the point of training them less. LMAO...I never heard of that. I will say that in working the legs consistantly....every week...will make it easier to hit them real hard and not suffer as much in the days following. Whenever I slack and go aprox 10 days to 2 weeks in between squats ect....i will get blown out.

Its the rest of my body above the waste that has a hard time growing Mid. My legs constantly ache daily though. like they are always growing it feels like. They are achey. I dont know any other way to explain it. I have RLS also. I put on 20 lbs in the past 3 weeks and it all went to my legs. So with that they hurt all the time. Flexeril help when they get bad. I also have zanaflex. I guess there is draw backs to having them grow so fast. My brother hasnt lifted a day in his life and he has a set of calves most body builders would die for. Its funny because my mother and father are tiny ass ppl. My dad is now like 5'6 125 lbs and my mom is 4'11 100 lbs. So my genetics are horrible.lol Dont know where the leg thing comes into play maybe my great grandfather or something

Achilles is an unknown quantity at this point
Going up and down stairs is very hard after leg day. I have found it beneficial to do Quads on one day and Hams and Calves on another. I try to hit them twice a week, like every thing else. Sometimes I can sometimes I cannot, depending on my schedule.
