Pulled trap muscle

Has anyone ever pulled a trap before. Not sure if its what I did or not. There is/was hardly any pain, probably a 2 on a scale of 1-10. Maybe has to do with the anti inflamatory effects of what Im taking???

Problem is, that when im doin shrugs there is a major dif in size between one and the other. I noticed the difference the day after a hard back day.

I lost maybe 25% strength on that side, but still able to train without much pain, strength is commin back fairly quickly.

Im really confused b/c i would imagine a pulled muscle or tendon would be pinfull as f--k. Maybe just a slight tear, but why the major dif in size then? Its like half the size of the other one when doin shrugs but looks fairly the same when relaxed or flexed w/o weight.

Taking a break is not an option, I go f--kin crazy when I can't train.

Not a huge deal but any insight you intelligent bros have is much appreciated.

Most of the time Its not the trap Its a pinched Nerve In the shoulder than makes it feel like The trap muscle with me thats what It was .. It hurt like hell for a while but went away .. But in the after effects One trap was bigger than the other because On the strain put on the muscle from the nerve .. So this is fixable The trick Is not heavy weight on the smaller side lighter weight on the other .. It's Controled blood flow to the muscle that counts, called Isometrics . LIGHT weight high Reps and a old time trick is when you are at the top of the shrug try squeezing both traps together.. Do this By thinking that a egg is centered evenly bewteen your traps. and at the top of the shrug try squeezing the neck with the traps to squeez the egg like sandwhiching the egg between the traps

Now since we are not 100% this is a muscle strain or a shoulder issue for the first few trap workouts do seated Shrugs with 30# bumpbells keep the back stright and do 4 sets of 50back for sets of 25 front

this will get them back on track, all it is getting the same blood flow back to the muscles

I tore the connective tissue to my traps in the back of my head.
It hurts like helllllll.
Neck brace for close to 8 weeks, stuck home playing Metroid...

Anything with your traps/neck area isnt anything to mess with..go to a chiro or PT.

Stay away from shrugs and watch tweaking your neck during any HEAVY lifts.

Muscle relaxors help but hinder my workouts so I suffer, anlgesics take the edge off but thats about it.
Stay away from opiate based pain killers.
